Ensin oli lintujen havainnointi. Katsoen ja kuunnellen. Sitten uteliaisuus ja tahto tunnistaa lajeja, joiden kanssa jaamme elintilaa. Samalla suuri huoli siitä, millaista on olla lintu ihmisen valtaamassa maailmassa.
Linnut eivät tiedä. Ne eivät voi kyseenalaistaa muutoksia elinympäristöissään tai suhtautua ihmisen toimintaan kriittisesti. Ne vain ovat ja hakeutuvat lajilleen ominaisiin paikkoihin; etsivät ravintoa ja reviirin, jossa pesiä.
Lintupäiväkirjan teokset on tehty kuivapastelleilla ingressipaperille. Kuivapastellit on pigmenttipölyä ja teos on tuhottavissa yhdellä pyyhkäisyllä.
Teoksen hinta ei sisällä kehystystä, mutta voin teetättää kehystyksen puolestasi. Lisätietoa kehystyksestä.
There was always something about the birds. To see them, to hear them, to watch them. I could only identify a few, and that bothered me. And I wanted to change that.
Then came the worry. We don’t make it easy for them—we only take. Birds are unaware of our actions. They simply exist and move following the behavioral patterns of their species. They seek out habitats that best support breeding and foraging.
The Bird Diary artworks are made with dry pastels on Ingres paper. Dry pastel is pigment dust—fragile and fleeting. A single swipe could destroy the drawing.
